Tim Mead & Sergio Bucheli
An evening of Dowland & Purcell Songs
Curated by The Queille Festival
Tim Mead and Sergio Bucheli take us on an intimate journey through some of the baroque period's most magical and melancholic songs by lutanist and composer John Dowland and Henry Purcell.
Counter-tenor Tim Mead is praised for his “alluring” and “consistently excellent” interpretations (New York Times). With his “rich, mellifluous sound” (Guardian), he is recognised as one of the finest across the generations of counter-tenors.
Mexican lutenist Sergio Bucheli has just graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is one of three outstandingly promising young ensemble instrumentalists selected for renowned baroque group Arcangelo’s New Ensemblist programme 2020-22, and has recently recorded with The English Concert and singers Kate Lindsey and Iestyn Davies. Prepare to be transported to another era by this mesmerising pair of musicians.
Programme length - 90 mins with interval

You can come to Shipwright as a Garden Guest (£25) or a House Guest (£70).
All guests will watch the show from our Thames-side garden, but as a Garden Guest this is as far as you'll go. And when the single show you’ve booked for is over, you’ll have one last drink and leave before the next audience arrives.
As a House Guest, you’re helping support the work the Shipwright does. Thank you. In return, we’d like to invite you to make Shipwright your home for the whole day, with a seat at each of the shows we have programmed. You’ll also get a personal tour with members of our team, before stopping off in a private bar with sofas, indoor loos, and a cloakroom. You'll still watch from outside, but whenever you need to, you can return to a coat room inside. The House Guest Day Pass for 22 July also includes DIG by Chris New (9.30pm)
