OH LET US HOWL
an early music odyssey
starring Isabelle Peters, Madison Nonoa
with Marc Elliot & Jens Franke
directed by Joseph Winters
The early sixteenth century.
The early twenty-first century.
In a room in a house by a river,
Two women gather in the dark.
The clock strikes. A candle is lit.
The clock stops. Something catches fire.
The clock strikes. They start to howl.
Join Isabelle Peters (English National Opera Harewood artist), Madison Nonoa (Glyndebourne Jerwood Young Artist) and Marc Elliott (The Father and the Assassin, National Theatre) as they journey into Tudor and Jacobean music with theorbo player Jens Franke (Wigmore Hall). Accompanied by Jens Franke on theorbo, this semi-promenade performance will bring Tudor tales from Deptford and Greenwich to life in the historic Master Shipwright’s House.

What is Pay What You Can?
We believe passionately in the accessibility of art and culture for everyone, and that no one should be excluded because of their financial circumstances, particularly now, when so many are struggling.
For the majority of performances at the Shipwright, you can choose to pay a price that works for you. On the booking page, there are multiple prices to choose from, and to help you with this decision, we have included a recommended price per ticket. This recommended price is what we’d traditionally charge for tickets, and any amount paid over this will help us continue to offer tickets on a Pay What You Can basis for as long as possible, whilst helping to support our activities with artists, young people and our local community.
Our tickets usually start at £10, and we have recommended pricing to help you to choose a price that works for you. If anyone feels they need to pay under £6 they can contact the Box Office, on general@theshipwright.co.uk to get a cheaper ticket.
Other Ways To Save
If you live on Watergate Street or are a member of one of our partner engagement groups then you can come to any event for free. We can offer two tickets per show so long as the night isn’t already sold out - find out more here.
